Florence. The Italian people have waited over forty years to see
"Opera" performed in public for the very first time. But as
opening night draws near, strange things abound in the atmosphere. Olive
vines wither without rain. Gelato melts in the absence of temperature.
The wind is nowhere to be felt. The weather has disappeared. And the young students of Galileo realize that without weather, there will be no change in the seasons, and without summer, there won't be a summer vacation!!! So where'd the weather go? Mysterious travelers arrive to warn that the weather hasn't disappeared...it's just the calm before the storm. Floods, wind, hail and lightning are ravaging the countryside. Storms are coming soon! The city will be destroyed and the Opera ruined. While the town panics, the students return from the science lab and unveil their secret invention: the barometer. To avoid disaster, artists and scientists unite to build the world's first weather station! Have your students learn about the elements of weather and earth sciences while taking part in a classic Italian rock-Opera. Join Galileo, The Dontagotheres, The Gelato Makers and many more as your classroom builds its very own weather station that is used as the main prop in the show! * * *
