444 B.C. Olympia, Greece.

Loss and despair seem to be in store for Athens fans at the 84th Olympic Games. Though victory in the Olympic foot races would restore glory, the latest incarnation of the Athens Racing Team is several strides short of athletic inspiration. Coach Philo is faced with a long losing streak, bad teammates and an old nemesis who wants to kick him out of Athens forever.

But the Greek gods are afoot to alter the course of fate. At the nearby Hera festival, where women athletes are allowed to race, Coach Philo learns of one woman faster than all his male runners. Does he dare try the forbidden? Sneaking a woman into the male-only Olympic races is punishable by death. Yet a victory is needed.

In a society where winning is all that matters, one man makes a decision to change the face of sport forever.
