Though victory in the Olympic foot races would restore glory, the latest incarnation of the Athens Racing Team is several strides short of athletic inspiration. Coach Philo is faced with a long losing streak, bad teammates and an old nemesis who wants to kick him out of Athens forever. But the Greek gods are afoot to alter the course of fate. At the nearby Hera festival, where women athletes are allowed to race, Coach Philo learns of one woman faster than all his male runners. Does he dare try the forbidden?
